This is why I put up this ultimate guide – I’ll go through the best time to visit Krabi, as well as the worst time and the average weather month by month.

The best time to visit Krabi is between October and March, with many sunny days and pleasant temperatures.
During this time of year temperatures are temperate with plenty of sunshine and fewer rainstorms than during the rest of the year. However, this is peak season so expect to pay more for accommodation.
Worst Time to Visit Krabi
The worst time to visit Krabi is between the end of May and September, during the rainy season – and that’s no fun.
I personally traveled to Krabi in May, June, and July on different occasions, and I eventually regretted it. Of course, hotels are cheaper, and you won’t see as many crowds, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Note that, during this time, it’s not uncommon for island hopping tours to get canceled because of the high waves, and they often get postponed.
Climate in Krabi, Thailand
The climate in Krabi is remarkable. It has a dry and hot season and a wet and cool season.
Typically, the dry season runs from October to March. The wet and cool weather, called monsoon season, lasts from May to the end of October.
The climate may be less attractive and pleasing; the monsoon season brings low hotel rates and less crowded holiday spots.
Generally, the temp is high throughout the year, with the regular high never being under 35 degrees Celsius (95 Fahrenheit). Thus, the sea stays warm enough to soak in the ocean year-round. How cool!

Summer in Krabi
Summer in Krabi is cloudy most of the time, and heavy showers almost daily. The weather is gloomy or mostly grey, approximately 91% throughout the season, from May to August.
June 29 is the clearest day of the hot season, with clear or partly gloomy conditions 10% of the time.
May 24 is the cloudiest day; the chance of dreary or mostly overcast conditions is 92%, while on the 7th of February, the clearest time of the year, the chance of the clearest or party cloud is 40 percent.
Wet Season in Krabi
When it comes to rainy days, anticipate October to have the most, with more than two-thirds of the month having rainfall.
The rainy season in Krabi starts in August and ends at the end of October. Note that you should also expect heavy rain in May, June, and July, but not as much.
Winter in Krabi
Winter is the season with the best time in Krabi. The temperature stays comfortable and pleasant, with daytime temperatures changing between 31 and 32°C, with the latter being the maximum temperature (86 to 89°F).
Krabi looks fabulous after the monsoon rainfalls, and it’s the right time to indulge in sightseeing, outdoor activities, exploration, and water sports.
The shoulder season is also pleasant, with great months being April and the end of October.
As you can expect, the hotel rates are high during winter, and the region is bustling with travelers who visit Krabi to escape the European and American winter.

Krabi Weather in January
In January, the standard high temperature is 32 °C, and the average low is only 21° C. Usually, the skies are bright and clear, with just three days of rainfall anticipated during this time.
The rain normally comes in brief bursts, and the remaining day is ideal for enjoying Krabi’s sea and stunning surroundings.
When visiting Krabi in January, you can expect most hotels to sell out and activities to be packed with people, so I recommend booking everything ahead of time.
Krabi Weather in February
February weather in Krabi makes it another fantastic time for dropping by. The weather is similar to January with just a slight increase in temperature, keeping them pleasant.
Typically, February is the sunniest month. The precipitation level is low, and the water temperature is on-point, which overall makes February the best month to visit Krabi.
Krabi Weather in March
The weather in Krabi in March has more extended daylight and pleasant temperatures ranging from 30 to 35°C during the day and 20 to 25°C during the night. The humidity rate is slightly lower, which is not as muggy.
Krabi Weather in April
Krabi’s weather during April is still hot because the temperature is on the rise – April is the hottest month in Krabi.
However, the pre-monsoon rains typically become frequent during this month, so expect a few rainy days.
However, temperatures remain the same – 30 to 35°C during the day and 20 to 25°C during the night.
Krabi Weather in May
May in Krabi brings almost 50 percent more rainy days than April, with nearly 16 days of rainfall, especially at the end of May. I personally traveled to Krabi in late May and I definitely had a few days of rain.
That being said, the water temperature stays warm for swimming, outdoor activities as well as water sports.
Krabi Weather in June
In June, the rainfall in Krabi seriously starts, with many rainy days, higher humidity levels, and temperature slightly dropping.
Naturally, many tours and activities get canceled. My favorite place in Krabi, Railay Beach, becomes unpleasant in June and I recommend skipping this region during this time.
Krabi Weather in July
July in Krabi brings approximately five hours of everyday sunshine with around 30 to 33°C (87 to 89°F), just like in June. The same weather can be anticipated in August.
Rainy days frequently occur with eighteen days of a rain shower. If you visit Krabi province in July, look forward to having a fair share of rainy days.
Krabi will be quiet during the month of June, so it means you will be alone on the beach, which is the positive side.
Krabi Weather in August
August is another rainy month with similar weather as July, with a few crowds. The average high temperature can go up to 31°C (87°F) in the daytime, and at night is 22 degrees. The forecasted number of rains during this month is 19 days.
You can also experience similar low-season rates if you visit Krabi this month. The hotel rate is cheap and only sometimes fully booked.
Krabi Weather in September
September is a popular time to visit Krabi, but you should be prepared for wet weather. According to weather reports, September is the wettest month in Krabi, with an average of 14.9 inches of precipitation over 18 days.
Despite the rain, temperatures remain warm with average daily highs around 31°C (88°F) and lows around 23°C (75°F). Make sure to pack light and cool clothing to stay comfortable during the hot and humid days.
Krabi Weather in October
This is the last month of the low season and the rainy season. During October, look forward to increasing prices and the locals getting ready for the following high season, especially at the end of the month.
You must expect to plan some activities around rainy days and benefit from a low number of guests at the usually crowded attractions such as Ao Nang Beach, Railay Beach, or Emerald Pool.
Krabi Weather in November
The weather in Krabi in November is exactly what you’re traveling in Thailand for.
The average temperatures throughout the month remains consistent at around 27°C (81°F), with daily highs reaching up to 30°C (86°F). While there is a chance of clouds, with an average of 71mm of rainfall this month, there is also a 21% chance of experiencing a perfect sunny day.
You can expect mostly clear skies and pleasant beach weather during their stay in Krabi in November.
Krabi Weather in December
Krabi experiences warm and pleasant weather in December. The average temperature ranges from 22°C (72°F) in the night to 31°C (89°F) in the day, making it an ideal time to visit and explore the beautiful beaches and islands.
The humidity level is relatively low, which makes the weather more comfortable for outdoor activities such as island hopping, scuba diving, kayaking, and visiting the Tiger Cave Temple.
